Cheesy Garlic Bacon Mashed Potatoes ~ Loaded with Garlic, Bacon and Cheese and you don’t even have to make the mashed potatoes!
Let’s just say these are so easy they start from pre-made potatoes. *GASP* I know. It’s a serious sin. At least I thought it was until I tried these. I honestly have never bought the pre-made potatoes in the grocery store. I always looked at them a bit warily as I strutted by them with my nose up in the air. I can do better than that I though. Even though, let’s admit it, I rarely ever make mashed potatoes due to the time factor.
You have to peel, boil, mash, mix and then I just want to go to bed. So I thought it was worth a whirl. Who am I to turn my nose up at something that is going to make my life way easier? As you all probably have figured out by now this is my theory, life is busy, I accept help anywhere it’s offered, including my cooking and baking.
I’m guessing if you are reading this blog you just might have the same theory right? Yup totally thought you were that person too.
This recipe started out with me deciding that I was going be all fancy and impress you and make these into those cute little duchess potatoes. Well, that backfired totally. I’ll admit my mistakes to you. Let’s just say bacon bits don’t fit through a tip of a pastry big no matter what size tip you pick. So then I was like well I’ll scratch this recipe. But then I had a bite of these potatoes and I was a goner. I knew I had to make them into some type of recipe to share so here it is!
So these potatoes are full of garlic straight out of the container so I added some bacon and cheese, because everything is better with these two things right? Yup totally.
This is the perfect recipe for a quick side dish and no one will even no you “cheated”! I’ll keep it a secret, no worries!
Cheesy Garlic Bacon Mashed Potatoes
- 1 (1lb) container Simply Made Garlic Potatoes
- 1 Tbsp butter
- 1 egg
- 1 c. finely shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 c. Real Bacon Bits
- Mix all ingredients together.
- Spread in a 9x13 in. glass baking dish.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes or until hot.
