As many of you know I’m a proud daughter of a farmer and it’s still near and dear to my heart. That’s why I’m always proud to partner with the Iowa Pork Producers to promote family farms.
When I was growing up we raised an array of livestock and also crops like wheat, soybeans and corn. Things have transitioned on our family farm to raising only soybeans and corn, so instead of raising the hogs we raise the food they eat! Even though we don’t raise hogs I still love promoting the industry because of the passion I know farmers have.
4 Ingredients
- Ground sausage
- Cream Cheese
- Sour Cream
- Rotel
It can’t get much simpler than that! This is an easy dip recipe that anyone can make. Don’t worry, it doesn’t flack flavor.
There is just the perfect amount of heat in it! The cream cheese and sour cream balance out the heat in this dip.
I love that these are all easy ingredients to keep on hand. I always make sure there’s a few pounds of ground sausage in my freezer, cream cheese and sour cream in the refrigerator and rotel in the pantry!
Did you know no matter where you buy your pork, at a local butcher or grocery store, you are still supporting family farms!
About one third of the pork raised here in the United States comes from Iowa, so when you shop at any grocery store you are supporting family farms in Iowa and the United States. Now, that’s something I can get behind!
Optional Add-Ins
- Corn
- Red Chili Flakes
- Black Beans
- Shredded Cheese
- Green Chiles

Julie! Thank you! I was so happy to find this recipe. My family and I have made the Velveeta sausage cheese dip for years but wanted a way to leave that out. Your recipe is sooooo good! We’ve already made it twice. 😋
