Craving a juicy, tender pork chop with a delicious breading? These Air Fryer Pork Chops are bursting with flavor from a Parmesan breading. The air fryer creates a crisp crust on all sides and the inside is still tender, juicy perfection. This recipe is perfect for a quick weeknight dinner!
Juicy, tender, breaded pork chops! Just the way they should be, right? Well, if you have an air fryer you can serve these beauties up for dinner in about 30 minutes! No preheating the oven and no worrying about overcooking them (dry pork chops are the worst!). All you do is bread them and pop them in the air fryer – they come out perfectly cooked every time.
We love pork chops and I’m always looking for new ways to prepare them for easy weeknight dinners. I was inspired by my oven pork chops and wondered how it’d work in the air fryer and they came out beautifully with a crispy Parmesan crust and so juicy and tender on the inside. In other words, delicious! And they are so easy – you are going to love this recipe! Serve them with some roasted sweet potatoes or glazed carrots for a delicious dinner your family will love.
Ingredients for Air Fryer Pork Chops!
You will want boneless pork chops that are approximately 1″ thick. If you need to, you can pound them with a meat mallet so they are all the same thickness. This will ensure they cook evenly and fast.
The breading is so, so good. It’s a combination of dried breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, smoked paprika and other herbs and seasoning. As the pork chops cook the breading gets super crispy. It’s what I love best about the air fryer – it’s almost like you fried them, but without all the hot oil and splattering mess!
How to make Pork Chops in the Air Fryer
Once you have your ingredients it doesn’t take any time at all to get them ready for the air fryer:
- First, brush the chops with olive oil.
- In a shallow bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, cheese, paprika, garlic powder, parsley, and pepper.
- Coat each pork chop with the mixture.
- Place the breaded pork chops in the air fryer. You will need to lay them in an even layer – don’t stack them otherwise they won’t cook evenly and the coating won’t get crispy. Depending on the size of your air fryer you may need to cook them in batches.
- Turn the air fryer temperature to 360 degrees F and cook them for 14 to 16 minutes or until they are cooked through. If your chops are thicker than 1″ they will need more time.
- Once cooked, transfer them to a plate and cover them with foil. Let them rest for five minutes – this will allow the juices to redistribute and not run out when you cut into them.
How Long to Cook Pork Chops in Air Fryer (include temp for air fryer)
The easiest way to know if they are done is to check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer. Insert it into the center of the pork chop and it should read 145°F.
FAQ for Pork Chops in Air Fryer
Can I air fry pork chops from frozen?
Technically you can but for this recipe, I don’t recommend it. Since these are breaded you definitely want to use fresh or thawed ones otherwise they might not cook properly.
How much can you put in an air fryer?
It depends on the size of your air fryer, but you can usually fit up to two servings of meat at a time. For this recipe, the pork chops should be in an even layer with some space to spare so the air can circulate around them – that’s how you get the crispy crust. If you add too many at a time they won’t cook evenly and they won’t get that crispy crust!
You also don’t want to try and cook two different things at the same time. If you want to make a side dish, like my air fryer broccoli, you should cook the chops first and then keep them covered on a plate while you cook your side dish.

By chance I made this as I didn’t know if it could be done in an air fryer… well was I ever wrong. They were absolutely delicious! Thank you for sharing this. I have now done this twice, first time for 16 minutes, the second time my power flipped out and had to start again so it was somewhere between 14-16 and both times were great! Consider yourself bookmarked!

I made the chops but omitted the cheese because cheese and I don’t get along. I also sprayed the breaded chops with oil and I also sprayed the fryer tray with oil before I put the chops in. They came out delicious and crispy. Your recipe is a keeper for me.

So glad you could make this recipe work for you!!
Carol M Little says
I cooked only two pork chops for 14 minutes. Came out a bit dry. Will try for a shorter period the next time.
Julie Evink says
Hey Carol! I’m sorry that happened. Cooking time really varies for pork chops depending on the thickness of them. Try less time next time and I hope they turn out great!

I made this recipe as written with the exception of crushed corn flakes instead of breadcrumbs. Fantastic! The time and air fryer temperature was perfect for me. I will definitely make this again – very tasty!!!!
Julie says
Perfect! I’m so glad you enjoyed them!
Gloria says
Do you think the timing would be longer with thicker pork chops? I’m using the Costco pork chops that are about 2” thick & bonelessv
Julie says
Yes, you might need to add a few minutes. The best way is to check the internal temp, you’re looking for 145 degrees F.

Delicious. This is going into our normal rotation.

I’m new to air frying and my pork chops were not crispy, but they were juicy. I used air fry setting .. was this wrong ? A lot of recipes say “cook” at degree & time. It would be best to say what setting- air fry or bake
Julie says
That is the correct setting – you want to select air fry. I’m glad they were juicy!

Excellent!!! So juicy and very tasty! Will definitely make again. I didn’t have Italian Season Bread Crumbs, just plain so I just added about 1/2 Tblsp of Italian Seasoning and voila! Made a great sandwich with Brioche buns, little mayo & sharp cheddar cheese! Scrumptious!!!
Julie says
Sounds delicious! I’m so glad you enjoyed them!

I have really picky eaters and they loved this recipe! Thank you so much. I substituted parsley with cilantro because that was all I had.
Julie says
Yay! I’m so glad it’s a hit with your picky eaters! Thanks, Tracy!
Denise says
Great flavor but not crispy as expected. This was only second attempt with using my new air fryer. Suggestions what I might do differently next time for better, crisper results? I cooked 2 pork chops, about 1” each, as recipe stated and they barely touched. At the end of 15 mins, I could tell they weren’t crispy so I flipped over and kept in an extra 5 mins. That made the meat tough… and still not crispy. Looking for suggestions.
Julie says
I’m really sorry to hear that, Denise! Did you use any substitutes for the breading or did you follow the recipe?
Denise says
I followed recipe except substituted the parsley for same amount of another seasoning I had on hand. I’m sure results must be due to my lack of experience using air fryer but not sure how to get crispier results without making meat tough.
Julie says
Hmmm, I’m so sorry it didn’t turn out!
LIsa Henry says
Excellent recipe. I did change the bread crumbs to rice flour and Italian seasoning as I’m allergic to wheat and yeast.

I’m glad you loved it!
