3 Ingredients!
If you are a beginner cook you can make this too, or if you just want to keep things easy this is the recipe for you!
- Spiral Ham – Any ham will work!
- Pineapple – We use tidbits, but you can use crushed also.
- Brown Sugar – You could also substitute honey if you’d like.
Steps to Prepare Crock Pot Pineapple Ham!
You basically dump the ingredients in your slow cooker and let it do its magic. Cooking it in the slow cooker makes the meat moister and more flavorful because it cooked longer.
- Prep – Layer 1 c. brown sugar on bottom of crock pot. Place ham on top of brown sugar and pour pineapple over the top. Sprinkle with remaining brown sugar and place cover on top.
- Cook – Turn crock pot on low for 2-3 hours or high 1-2 hours.
Expert Tips!
- Any ham will work for this recipe, but we like the spiral ham so the juices can get right into the ham to give it so much flavor. If you use a bone-in ham you could score it for the same effect.
- When you pour the pineapple on top, pull the slices apart so it can get into the ham giving it so much flavor.
- Make sure to use a 6-8 quart crock pot because this is a large cut of ham.
- If you use a 6 quart crock pot we recommend trying to find a ham on the smaller side like 6-8 lbs because it will be a tight fight.
- You can substitute the canned pineapple with fresh pineapple if you’d like.
- If you’d like to brown the ham more after cooking it in the slow cooker, place it in in a baking pan and broil for 5-10 minutes in oven.
- You will need about 3/4 lb of bone-in ham per person that you are serving. I always round up to 1 lb of ham per person to be on the safe side, remember to adjust if you have a lot of kids, they typically eat less. Plus, I love leftover ham to make ham salad and our favorite Ham & Penne Pasta!
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator in an air-tight container for up to 3-4 days.
- To reheat slices of ham, place on pan, cover with foil and warm it in the oven at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes.

Can I cut up the ham first or do I have to cook it whole?
Julie Evink says
I have never done it like this so I can’t guarantee anything but I would think you’d be able to do it like that. I’d just watch the cooking time since it might cook a bit faster!
Loretta Lantz says
Do you put the ham in the crockpot, flat side down? Or, does it matter?
Julie Evink says
I did flat side down!
Gina says
great idea! never thought of using my crockpot for this. I do our Thanksgiving & Christmas hams every year with this same recipe (plus studded with whole cloves). Will sure cut my prep time a little more for the other things I have to cook!
Julie Evink says
There’s never enough room in the oven is there?!
Lori says
Have you done this with a picnic ham? I have one in the freeze I need to use. It’s not the spiral cut one, it’s a whole one. Do you think it would still work?
Julie Evink says
I think it would work just fine!
Scott Derry says
Just slice into the ham an inch or two.
Julie Evink says
Perfect tip Scott!
Lareese says
Do you buy the ham fully cooked?
Julie Evink says
Yes mine was fully cooked!

I would like to try this recipe. It sounds amazing. Do you drain the juice from the pineapples or do you use the juice too?
Julie Evink says
Use the juice it caramelizes the brown sugar!
