How to Make Cube Steak in a Crockpot
Whisk the canned soup and soup packet in a bowl. Then spread some of the soup mixture in the crock pot. Sprinkle half of the sliced onions over the top.
Place the steaks on top of the onions, followed by the rest of the soup mixture and the rest of the onions. Place the sliced butter on top.

What is cube steak?
Cube steak a type of sirloin steak that has is tenderized by pounding it thin – that part is already done for you! You can tell it’s cube steak because it looks like it’s been flattened with a meat mallet.
Cube steak is less expensive than other cuts which makes a great budget-friendly meat. Cooking it in the slow cooker is great because it gets really tender!
What I love about this recipe is that you can cook the steak AND the gravy at the same time in the crock pot. When it’s ready, you’ll have tender beef and a rich gravy for a delicious dinner.
How to Store Leftover Crock Pot Cube Steak
If you have leftovers place them in the a shallow, airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. Leftover cube steak can also be frozen for up to 3 months. Just store in a freezer container or freezer bag.
To reheat leftovers, thaw in the fridge overnight. We recommend reheating it in the oven in an oven safe dish, covered for 15-20 minutes at 350 degrees or until heated through.
You can also warm it on the stove top in a skillet, covered on low heat until heated through. Leftovers can be reheated in the microwave in a microwave safe dish but this can dry out the meat a bit!
What can I add to this crock pot cube steak recipe?
If you love mushrooms, add some sliced fresh mushrooms or canned mushrooms. A bit of garlic powder and onion powder are great ways to add extra flavor to the dish too. Feel free to add some potatoes into the crock pot, other veggies, and different seasonings and fresh herbs.
If you want to amp up the flavor, lightly coat the steak in flour and brown the pieces on the stove in a pan first. Cook them long enough to get a nice crust and then place them in the slow cooker.
