Crock Pot Kickin’ Cheesy Beer Smokies ~ Your Favorite Smokies Loaded with Beer Cheese Sauce and Tabasco for a Kick!

Fall is HERE! That means bon fires, cozy sweaters, comfort food and crisp autumn air. Know what else it means? FOOTBALL! Who’s excited for some football? I know I am, well I know I really should be a little more upfront. I am ready for some football food! I adore dips, appetizers and game food. Sunday afternoons can be full of nothing but snacks in my opinion and I’d be one happy girl. The actually football game? Well that’s debatable.
I’ll be honest. Food is more my thing. Sure I will watch football but I’m not some fantasy football following junkie. I’m always loyal to my Minnesota Vikings no matter how horrible they play, which trust me is REAL horrible most of the time. This year there might be hope but in true fashion they’ll screw it up some how. This people, I am used too. Minnesotans are not known for their GREAT athletic teams. It’s just a fact of life.
This year the Vikes are building a new stadium, which means their old one has been torn down and they are playing outdoors at the University of Minnesota’s football field. Yes, outdoors in Minnesota. I call them crazy, nuts, off their rocker etc. They must have really, really wanted a new stadium to agree to that. I would have said heck no and stayed indoors where they heat was available.
With that being said I’m attending an outdoor game to say I did it. It’s in early October and I’m praying to the heavens above that I’m not crazy and it’s not a terribly cold, windy, miserable day. It’s Minnesota and even though it’s only October one never knows. So say a few prayers for me ok? I’m not a cold weather, outdoors type of girl. Nope, not at all.
When football season roles around do you get excited for the actually football game or are you just excited to eat your way through the appetizer buffet like me? Is your thing dips like this Cheesy Corn Dip or something with a bite? Maybe you’d rather have some sweet snacks like Sweet & Salty Cashew Chex Mix with a Green Beer? Personally I love, love, love these Ranch Pretzels. If you see me with them you might have to throw a few elbows to get them away from my death grip.
If you haven’t concluded I’m always up for a “Homegating” event to show support for my Vikes and it’s always full of tons of yummy food. Like any event at my house would go down without amazing food! There never seems to be a lack of it.
If you are looking for a new recipe to impress every one with Crock Pot Kickin’ Cheesy Beer Smokies are your ticket! They are sooooo easy even a guy (yes I know many men are amazing cooks!) can do it. Simply stir a few ingredients together toss in your smokies and turn the crock pot on for a few hours.

Was wondering what beer you used for this?

Beer cheese sauce sounds really interesting. I’m very curious of it now, it’s like the nth time I’ve read about it this month. I’ve used both to flavor various dishes but I haven’t combined them to make a sauce. A friend of mine who’s a chef said it was best with paprika. Did you put one on these?
Paola Fuentes says
Ooooh! I want one…
Julie Evink says
You need one!

Patrice+Mitsos says
and even if one is supposed to use a crockpot…it’s too long.
Patrice Mitsos says
Once again, these look delicious, Julie. However, these little hot dogs need to be watched and stirred for FOUR HOURS???? Who has time for that?
Do you mean 40 minutes??? I can’t see anyone standing and stirring a pot for four hours….not even if they’re cooking for someone’s wedding.
Julie Evink says
You can always cook them on the stove top in a saucepan which would speed up the cooking process.
Teresa+Youngman says
What kind of cheese sauce do you use?
Julie Evink says
Prego and it was found in by the spaghetti sauce!
Teresa+Youngman says
Thank you so much.
Teresa+Youngman says
I’m looking forward to trying these! What type (brand) of cheese sauce do you recommend? Is it the Nacho cheese sauce found in the chips isle?
Julie Evink says
I used Prego I think and it was found by the spaghetti sauce!
Lisa Clayton says
Was your cheese sauce white or yellow like cheddar. Could not find prego cheese sauce

I love the football, but the game day food is equally enticing! These look awesome and I’m pretty positive my husband would love them. Heck, they are so easy, he could probably even make them! Oh ya, and MN sports aren’t always loosers…just the teams we actually care about. Apparently the women have won a couple WNBA championships lately. 😛
Julie Evink says
Oh yes come to think of it they did! Just none of the heavily publicized sports teams are any good!
Jen+@+Baked+by+an+Introvert says
Man, theses little smokies look delicious. And the fact that they are cooked in a crock pot make them even better!
Julie Evink says
Can’t go wrong with the Crock Pot EVER!
Gayle @ Pumpkin 'N Spice says
What a great recipe for game days, Julie! My husband would go nuts over these little guys. And I love using my slow cooker, so this definitely gives me an excuse to try these out! Looks delish! Pinned!
