Ingredients for French Onion Chicken
- Chicken breasts – Boneless, skinless are best with this recipe.

- Seasonings – Paprika, garlic powder, kosher salt
- Butter – A nice rich fat to sauté the onions, salted or unsalted butter will work.
- Onion – The star of the show!
- Flour – This will thicken the sauce. You can substitute corn starch.
- French onion soup – Keep it simple and use a storebought can.
- Chicken broth – Use your favorite brand.
- Mozzarella cheese – Shred this yourself, it melts so much better.

Yes, you can make this a gluten free dish if you substitute corn starch for the flour in the sauce. Start with 1 1/2 Tablespoons corn starch for 3 Tablespoons of flour. I also recommend checking labels for your French onion soup and chicken broth to ensure both products are gluten free.
