Looking for a new twist on pizza night? You’ve got to try this amazing Pizza Monkey Bread! It’s the perfect quick dinner for a new twist on Friday night pizza night or a fun and easy appetizer perfect for watching the game. It’s stuffed with pepperoni, mozzarella cheese and garlic that’s baked in a Bundt pan. Then grab a piece and dunk it in pizza sauce! So fun to eat and so delicious!
I made this recipe with my niece the other night. I had it “pinned” on Pinterest and she had full control over what recipe we were going to try out. She had thought about trying an easy calzone recipe, but decided on this one. When she comes to visit life usually gets put on hold and we do whatever she likes to do.
We decided to do some baking, but since she was in charge, she pondered about what to make.
That girl is fabulous in the kitchen! She knew how to scrape the bowls, level off the baking powder and flour etc. She proudly said my grandma taught me that. Good thing Grandma is so smart because that’s where I got all my “mad” skills too!
This is a very kid-friendly recipe that they are sure to love. I didn’t use homemade dough but it would be excellent with it!

What type of pan do you need for Pizza Monkey Bread?
A bundt pan is ideal and here’s why; Pizza Monkey Bread – or any monkey bread for that matter – is really dense. The design of a bundt pan allows this delicious pull-apart bread to bake evenly. Resist the urge to pull out whatever pan is handy, trust me!
Though I’ve thought about trying an angel food cake pan, I think it would work? But I haven’t tested that to be sure.
Expert Tips
- Use a bundt pan, but if you don’t have on a 9” x 13” baking dish will also work.
- Spray the inside of it really well with non-stick coating
- If the top of the bread starts getting too dark during baking, loosely cover it with a piece of tin foil
- No frozen bread dough? use homemade dough, pizza dough, biscuits or even crescent roll dough might just work in a pinch!
- Feeling lazy? You can skip the stuffing of the bread and toss everything, except the marinara in a bowl and toss until combined. Place it in a the pan and bake!

That is a note saying if you do not have frozen bread dough, you can use the alternatives listed. The recipe calls for frozen bread dough or pizza dough.
