Spaghetti Sauce


1 pound ground Italian sausage 1 pound lean ground beef 1 large onion  5 cloves garlic  1 Tablespoon granulated sugar 2 teaspoons dried Italian seasonings 1 teaspoon kosher salt ½ teaspoon ground black pepper 1 Tablespoon dried parsley flakes 12 ounces tomato paste 28 ounces can diced tomatoes 28 ounces can crushed tomatoes 1 cup water

In a large pot or pan, add the ground sausage and beef and cook over medium-high heat. Add in the onion and garlic and cook until the meat is browned. Drain off grease.

Reduce heat to medium; add in the sugar, Italian seasonings, salt, pepper and parsley to the skillet with meat. Stir to combine. Then add in the tomato paste and stir to combine.

Pour in diced tomatoes with liquid, crushed tomatoes and water to the skillet. Stir until well combined. Bring to a simmer, reduce heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes.

Serve immediately over pasta.
