Clean the turkey and place it in the roasting pan. Season the inside with salt and pepper, then place the onion and garlic inside the cavity.
Make the butter rub next. Rub some of the mixture under the skin and on top of it.
Rub the remaining butter mixture on the outside of the turkey. Then, pour the chicken broth and cover.
Bake, baste the top with the liquid in the bottom of the pan, and continue cooking. Let it rest before carving.
