Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp butter divided
  • 2 apples peeled and sliced
  • 1/3 c. brown sugar packed
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 c. chopped walnuts toasted
  • 4 eggs beaten
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • In a ovenproof skillet melt 2 Tbsp butter over medium heat. Add apples, brown sugar and spices; cook and stir until apples are soft, about 7 minutes. Add walnuts and cook another 2-3 minutes or until apples are caramelized. Add remaining 1 Tbsp of butter and stir until it is melted. Remove skillet from heat.
  • In a large bowl whisk together remaining ingredients until just mixed. Pour batter over apple mixture in skillet.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and puffy. Cut into wedges and drizzle with syrup.
