Ingredients

  • 1 ½ ounces rum
  • 8-10 mint leaves
  • 10-12 blackberries
  • 1 lemon cut in wedges
  • 1 lime cut in wedges
  • 1 Tablespoon granulated sugar or less, depending on how sweet you prefer
  • club soda

Instructions

  • Add blackberries, mint, sugar lemon juice from one wedge and lime juice from one wedge to tall glass.
  • Muddle with a muddler until blackberries are crushed.
  • Add rum and ice to almost fill cup.
  • Top off glass with club soda. Mix thoroughly with straw stick or spoon.
  • Garnish with lemon and/or lime if desired.

Notes

If you don’t like rum you can use vodka instead and make vodka mojitos.
Blackberries are great but you can use other berries, too! Try raspberries, blueberries or strawberries or a mix of fruit to make your own custom mojito drink.
Feel free to adjust the amount of sugar to suit your tastes. You can also use simple syrup to make this drink.
You don’t need a fancy wooden muddler to make this drink – if you have a wooden spoon just use the handle end to crush the fruit.
