Tequila Sunrise

A delicious blend of tequila, orange juice and grenadine to create the colors of the sunrise.

Ingredients

Cocktail

  • 2 oz tequila
  • 4 oz orange juice
  • ½ oz grenadine

Garnishes

  • Orange slices
  • Maraschino Cherries with stems

Instructions

  • Fill a highball glass with ice cubes. Pour tequila and orange juice into glass.
  • Stir to combine.
  • Slowly pour in grenadine around the outside edge of the glass for presentation. Eventually it will sink and gradually rise to mix in with the other ingredients.
  • Garnish with an orange slice and cherry with stem. Serve immediately.

Can you make a big batch?
In order to give the drink the layered look, you can’t really mix a big batch. It’s better to pour each drink separately.
Should you use fresh squeezed orange juice?
For the freshest, best flavor it’s worth using fresh-squeezed orange juice but not a requirement! For an easy drink, use prepared low-pulp orange juice.
