Cornflake Wreaths

You only need a few ingredients including cornflakes, marshmallows and butter to make these no-bake Christmas Wreaths that are festive, cute and delicious.

Ingredients

  • 4 Tablespoon butter
  • 34 large marshmallows or 4 cups minis
  • 5 cups Cornflakes
  • 1 teaspoon Green liquid food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla optional
  • ¼ cup Redhots candies or small red candies

Instructions

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment or wax paper. Spray with cooking spray and set aside.
  • Over low heat, melt butter in a heavy-bottomed saucepan.
  • Add Marshmallows, stirring constantly until combined.
  • Remove from heat, and add food coloring and extract if using, mix well.
  • Pour cereal into the saucepan and mix until combined.
  • Drop spoonfuls, about 1/3 cup, of the cornflakes unto the lined baking sheet. Using a bowl of cold water, dip fingers as needed to keep them from sticking. Use fingers to create a hole in the center of each pile and gently press cornflakes together as each pile is shaped into a wreath.
  • Add cinnamon candies while the wreaths are still slightly tacky.

Notes

  • These cute Christmas desserts can get frustrating if you don’t know how to work with the sticky marshmallow mixture. Use food safe disposable gloves, or dip your fingers in water or butter to keep the cornflakes from sticking to your fingers.
  • Don’t overcook the marshmallows as that will make them too sticky to work with!
  • Before you mix the cereal into the marshmallows, spray your spoon or silicone spatula with cooking spray to help prevent the mixture from sticking to your spoon as you stir.
