- ½ cup butter softened
- 1 cup brown sugar packed
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup quick oats
- 21 ounces cherry pie filling (1 can)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Spray a pie plate with non-stick spray and set aside.
In a mixing bowl combine butter, brown sugar, all-purpose flour and quick oats.
Use half of this mixture as a pie crust, pack firm in a prepared pie plate.
Add cherry pie filling on top of crust.
Sprinkle remaining oat mixture on top of the pie filling.
Bake crumble in preheated oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes or until brown on top. Remove from oven and let cool 10-15 minutes. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream if desired.
Fridge: Store leftover cherry crumble in an airtight container, or covered in plastic wrap or foil for up to 5 days.
Freezer: You can also freeze leftover crumble, once cooled, in a well sealed container or in the pie plate wrapped in plastic wrap then covered in aluminum foil. Thaw overnight in the fridge.
To reheat an individual portion, you can easily use the microwave in 15 second increments until it is to the temperature you would like. If you are reheating a larger amount, place in an oven preheated to 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 10 minutes, or until warm throughout.
