Julie are you kidding me with these potatoes? Seriously they are insane!!!! I want!

  • Pamela @ Brooklyn Farm Girl

Incredibly delicious and cheesy galore. I’m in heaven!

  • Renee@Two in the Kitchen

These look so yummy Julie!! I love crockpot dishes!!

    • Julie Evink

Me too Renee! Such a lifesaver!

  • Ashley @ Wishes & Dishes

Oh goodness..your food always looks So good!!! And tempting!! Cheese, potatoes, crock pot…pretty much all of my favorite things in one post.

  • tisha

Why can I not access the recipe?

  • Amy | Club Narwhal

Julie, I am dying a little over here looking at this cheesy goodness! Potatoes are my favorite but I’ve never tried making them in a crock pot. That needs to be remedied immediately, obviously :)

  • Theresa

Can fresh potatoes be subbed for the frozen hash?

    • Julie Evink

I’m not sure since I’ve never tried it like that! If you do try it like that let me know how it goes!

  • Dan

My father is allergic to chicken. What would you substitute for the cream of chicken soup???

    • Julie Evink

Cream of Mushroom would probably work!

      • Dan

Do you think cream of cheddar soup would make it too cheesy??

        • Julie Evink

It was really cheesy to begin with so I would worry about that. You could leave some of the shredded cheese out unless you thought it needed it at the end!

    • Sherri

My hubby doesn’t like Cream of Chicken so I substitute Cream of Onion and leave out the onion flakes.

  • Cathy@LemonTreeDwelling

These DO look comforting! I could use a GIANT bowl right now….seriously yummy, Julie!

  • Starla J

I have cheesy potatoes in the crockpot right now. I hope it’s as yummy as it looks. Thanks for sharing!

  • Chelsea R

Why cant I see the Recipe?

  • Faith

Can I add chicken to make a meal of it?

    • Julie Evink

I haven’t ever tried it like that but I would think you could, just watch the cooking time and make sure there is enough liquid!

  • Linda

Made these several times. Yummy. Last time I used O’Brien potatoes and added about a cup or so of some small cubed ham. I bought some 1/4″ thick ham slices at the local deli counter and diced them up. Wow!!! I think the next time I will try some cubed or perhaps even some canned chicken (not raw). Of course everything goes better with cheese!!! This recipe just lends itself to so many different additions. Thanks.

    • Julie Evink

      Those are wonderful suggestions Linda!!

  • Beachgirl

These were a hit at dinner tonight! Everyone kept commenting on how yummy there are, thanks for the recipe :)

  • Krystal

Making these for a surprise party tonight. Hope they turn out great! I am, however, using fresh cut potatoes versus the frozen!

    • Julie Evink

Let me know how they turn out Krystal!

  • Emily

Have you ever not thawed the potatoes and increased cook time?

    • Julie Evink

No I haven’t Emily but I would think this would work fine.

  • Megan

I just made a version of this, used fresh potatoes and cream of broccoli instead- AMAZING! I cooked on high for 5 hours and it came out deliciously! Everyone loved it :) thanks for the recipe! I just used what I had to substitute and it still turned out great!

  • Debbie

I made these cheesy potatoes for Thanksgiving and they were so good! I’m making them tonight for! I dinner! I’m going to make them this way from now on!

    • Julie Evink

So happy to hear this Debbie! Enjoy!

  • Linda

I love, love these cheezy potatoes. How do you think I could get that cornflake topping on the crockpot potatoes. I thought I could just toast the cornflakes and butter in the oven and when the potatoes are done in the crockpot, just sprinkle the topping on. What do you think?

    • Julie Evink

I think that would work fine!

  • Michelle M.

I am planning on making these for Christmas, but I bought the shredded hashbrown potatoes. Would that work or should I get the diced? These look amazing!!

    • Julie Evink

I’d just watch the cooking time and check it towards the end.

  • Jessica

Did you ever find out how it turns out using fresh potatoes instead of frozen ones?

    • Julie Evink

Someone else commented they used fresh and cooked on high 5 hours.

  • Shirley

Oven is not working, so this will be great for my Christmas dinner, along with ham in the crock pot.

  • Janelle

We are going to double the recipe tomorrow. Any suggestions on cooking time?

    • Julie Evink

I’d think 1-2 hour additional cook time would be fine.

  • Kristina

I need to double this recipe. Will it fit in a normal large sized crock pot? Also I am using fresh potatoes, how many do I use please?

    • Julie Evink

I would think a crock pot about 6 quart would work just fine. As for the fresh potatoes I’m not sure how many you’d need since I’ve never made it like that. Sorry!

  • Kirstin

Can I freeze these ingredients together ahead of time? Sorry if someone already asked this. :/

    • Julie Evink

I haven’t tried this, but if you do it do not thaw the frozen potatoes and then refreeze them.

  • Katie Stewart

these look incredibly delicious!!! I can’t wait to give it a try!

  • Bryanna

Forgot sour cream at store… can I skip it?? Add more soup?
