Christmas Cornflake Wreaths are a favorite Christmas treat that is so easy to make! You only need a few ingredients including cornflakes, marshmallows and butter to make these no-bake Christmas treats that are festive, cute and delicious.

It’s just not Christmas until these adorable little cornflake wreaths make their appearance! Cute Christmas desserts are my weakness around the holiday season, and these one of favorites.
Your kids will love to jump in and help make these, and let’s be honest, we’d all much rather them have the sticky hands than us, right? This recipe is also super easy to double. So, make a big batch and bring them to your next Christmas party!
Why You’ll Love Christmas Cornflake Wreaths
- Cornflakes wreaths are really easy to make, which makes it a great dessert to add into all of your holiday baking!
- This yummy cereal treat is kid friendly and absolutely adorable!
- This easy treat does not require any baking, which will help keep your oven free to bake all of your other treats.
What You’ll need for Cornflake Wreaths
- Cornflakes – I used regular cornflakes when making this cute Christmas dessert, but you can use Frosted Flakes, Rice Krispies, or even Cheerios!
- Green Liquid Food Coloring – You can’t have a wreath without green food coloring!
- Marshmallows – Any size marshmallows will do, but I find it’s easier to melt the larger ones evenly.
- Butter – Set some extra butter aside, you may end up needing it to keep the marshmallow and cornflake mixture from sticking to your hands.
- Vanilla Extract – You can sub other extracts like almond, orange, or mint if you want. Just keep in mind that red hots have a strong cinnamon flavor, so don’t choose an extract flavor that will clash!
- Red Hots Candy – These little cinnamon candies act as the holly berries on the wreath. You can also use red mini M&Ms if you don’t like the cinnamon flavor.

Tips for the best Cornflake Wreaths
- These cute Christmas desserts can get frustrating if you don’t know how to work with the sticky marshmallow mixture. Use food safe disposable gloves, or dip your fingers in water or butter to keep the cornflakes from sticking to your fingers.
- Don’t overcook the marshmallows as that will make them too sticky to work with!
- Before you mix the cereal into the marshmallows, spray your spoon or silicone spatula with cooking spray to help prevent the mixture from sticking to your spoon as you stir.
Can I use something other than Red Hots?
Yes! Red Hots are the most common candy used for cornflake wreaths, but you can use red mini M&M’s or even create licorice bows!
Can I melt the marshmallows in the microwave?
Absolutely! The marshmallows and butter can be melted in the microwave in 1-minute intervals. Just keep an eye on it and stir well after each minute.

Followed the “Notes” and had no problem making these! Used Cheerios as we rarely have Corn Flakes here! I had to get the red hots off the internet because our locals stores were sold out! This will be one I will make with my grandkids in the future! I wanted to add a photo but I don’t see how I can!
