Delicious Caramel Cookie Bars with an amazing layer of gooey caramel stuffed in between the layers with a hint of peanut butter. These cookie bars are EPIC and you’ll never make them another way again!
“I’m going to marry these!”
Truer words have never rang from my lil bro’s mouth.
He might have laughed when he asked the names of these little devils before he took a bit. One bite and he was in love. So in love that he thought he’d marry them.
I love my little brother. He’s the best taste tester ever. Way better than the hubs (sorry love ya hun!). He’s single therefore every time I make something and he gets to taste test he gets super pumped over it. The hubs on the other hand just says one word answers. Nothing like “I’m going to marry these!” Of course I might take offense to that coming from the hubs.
Maybe it’s because my mom trained him so well. Yup going to give mom some credit on this one. Not sure how she trained him to ooo and ahhh over meals and treats, but I’m going to have to pick her brain on this one so I can get the hubs trained.
The hubs…trained. Wow that’s a laugh. Does anyone ever get them trained?
If you do please share your secret.
I should also give some credit to the older bro. We were out for Halloween and he had dropped his daughter off to relieve my mom from looking after Miss K. In the midst of the festive bar atmosphere he had to lean over and say, “You have one less bar at home. They were amazing!”
Oh yes that’s right this Momma thought she’d go out for a few adult beverages this past weekend. Yup, that cured me of that for another year. I need sleep.
So if you need someone to propose, love you, oooo and ahh please head to the kitchen with this recipe in hand immediately.

Ok, never have I ever commented on a blog or recipe, until now. Being a chef for many years, I skip right to recipes and tweak them to seem correct to me. Your thoughts caught my attention immediately. Read the whole thing. Recipe sounds amazing, but ok,I will make caramel sauce from scratch. My husband and sons are so spoiled they don’t realize that everyone doesn’t have the kind of food they eat every day. It’s OK, really, it makes me smile. Your blog sounds so familiar. My friends r there to tell me how great everything is. Especially fire wok as my friends say,or Mongolian hot pot. Thanks for the laugh and going to make these bars now and share them with my friends. 65 years old, still cooking, still laughing, and you are only the 2nd person I have followed for recipes. Would have given you 5 stars, but it only let me give you 4

Thank you. Your kind words are appreciated!

There are no measurements. What kind of recipe is this?
Pauline says
Not good, too sweet .
Courtney says
If you don’t like sweet things, you should stay away from this recipe.
Pauline says
Crappy !!

Why did you feel the need to comment 3 times? If you didn’t enjoy this recipe like the rest of us do, that’s fine but please keep your negative comments to one comment.
Elle says
What a rude thing to say out loud. I’ve been making these bars for years, and everyone raves over them. Projecting your user error issues isn’t the way to go.
Pauline says
Tried them, didn’t like then, too messy and way too sweet
Alicia says

I’ve been making this recipe for years. They are wonderful. Can you freeze them? I need to make ahead of time
Courtney says
I have never tried freezing these! 😬
Cheryl Hinman says
I haven’t made these yet, but I’m anxious to! Sounds like people eat these right away, BUT, I need to wait three days to serve (I’m crunched for time day before!). Do I need to refrigerate or is room temp, covered sufficient?
Courtney says
These are so good! I’ve always made and served right away. You could probably be ok with just covering appropriately and leaving them on the counter.
Angel says

You could do a metal bowl on top of a sauce pan with water in it!
