Ingredients for Bang Bang Chicken Skewers
Chicken
- Chicken breast – Boneless skinless chicken breasts cut into 1-inch cubes are added to the skewers. You can use chicken thighs as well. Keep the cubes the same size to ensure even cooking.
- Olive oil – Oil will help the seasonings stick to the chicken.
- Seasonings – Garlic powder, kosher salt and ground black pepper.
Bang Bang Sauce
- Mayonnaise – The tangy, creamy base for this great sauce. You can use full fat plain Greek yogurt if you prefer. It will change the taste and texture a little bit, but it will still be delicious!
- Sweet chili sauce – This storebought sauce is sweet, spicy and savory all at once.
- Sriracha – Adds the perfect amount of heat to the bang bang sauce.
How To Make Bang Bang Chicken Skewers
In a large bowl, combine the cubed chicken breasts, oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until all the chicken is coated evenly.
Add the chicken cubes onto the skewers and place on parchment lined baking sheet.
Cook the chicken for 20-25 minutes or until the internal temperature of chicken is 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
In a small bowl, add the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and Sriracha. Mix well.
Remove cooked chicken from oven and drizzle or brush the chicken with the bang bang sauce. Serve immediately.
Pro Tips
- You can leave the bang bang sauce off of a few skewers if you will be feeding some people who don’t love spice. Leave it on the side so they can taste it.
- If you are using wooden skewers, soak them for about 30 minutes before adding the chicken so they don’t burn in the oven.
Storage and Reheating
Fridge: Remove leftover chicken from skewers and store in an airtight container up to 4 days. Store leftover bang bang sauce separately.
Freezer: Freeze leftovers without the sauce, if possible, in a freezer bag. Reheat from frozen or thaw in the fridge overnight. Baste with a fresh batch of bang bang sauce to serve.
Reheat in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 10 minutes and baste with bang bang sauce.

Instructions
- Soak the wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
- In a large bowl, combine the cubed chicken breasts, oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until all the chicken is coated evenly.
- Put the chicken cubes onto the skewers.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the chicken skewers on the baking sheet.
- Cook the chicken for 20-25 minutes or until the internal temperature of chicken is 165 degrees Fahrenheit.

How To Serve Bang Bang Chicken Skewers
Serve bang bang chicken over a bed of rice or noodles and an extra dollop (or two!) of bang bang sauce. The kids also love to dip naan or pita bread into bang bang sauce, so I usually make a double batch.
