Grilled BBQ Tenderloin ~ Turkey Tenderloin Marinated in BBQ Sauce and Grilled to Perfection! Light, Healthy, Low Carb Meal!
It’s August! Today I can definitely say that I can feel a chill in the air. How is that possible? I know that this is only a passing weather system and I’m guessing that we will be back to hot temperatures soon since this is Minnesota and the weather is fickle. Yet, this crispness in the air makes me secretly look forward to fall! Anyone else feel the same way?
Although, I know that fall is followed by winter so I’m going to back to enjoying the hot temperatures when they return and fire up the grill for as many meals as I can. There’s a good nine months where the grill is not possible in Minnesota unless you want to layer up in a parka and mittens. I’m not hardy enough to do that no matter what I’m craving that’s for sure!
When we are at the lake the grill is pretty much the only option for our meals other than breakfast. I don’t want to make a huge meal and heat up the kitchen. Plus, this way the hubby is stuck partaking in meal making which is a great thing in my opinion. He might disagree with me though!
The other week while we were there I decided to try these Grilled BBQ Turkey Loins. My family may have raised their eyebrows a bit when I said turkey loin, but they went with it. At least I’m starting to get them trained there!
These turkey loins start by marinating them in a homemade BBQ sauce then grilling and basting! Remember those BBQ cocktail meatballs we all love at holiday gatherings? The secret ingredient of grape jelly to give you just the right amount of sweetness is in the homemade BBQ marinade too!
My family was singing me praises when I took this off the grill and they dug in. It was tender, juicy perfection! That will teach them not to doubt me, right?

Grilled BBQ Tenderloin
- 1 24 oz Jennie-O turkey loin
- 1/2 c. BBQ sauce
- 1/4 c. grape jelly
- 2 garlic cloves minced
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
- In a large bowl whisk the BBQ sauce, grape jelly, garlic and black pepper.
- Place tenderloin in gallon resealable plastic bag. Pour half of BBQ marinade over pork. Remove air from bag. Marinated for at least one hour up to overnight.
- Store remaining marinade in an airtight container in the fridge.
- Preheat grill to 350 degrees. Place tenderloin on grill and cook according to package direction, basting frequently.
- Let rest for 5-10 minutes. Brush with additional sauce, slice and serve.
