On a hot summer day there’s nothing more refreshing than a big glass of Iced Peach Green Tea that’s naturally sweetened. It only has 4 ingredients so it’s easy to make. Grab your fresh peaches and make a batch today.

Iced tea has become my latest obsession. Of course, cold brew coffee will forever and always be at the top of my obsession list (the love runs deep), but iced tea has been steadily climbing the charts.
This Iced Peach Green Tea is refreshing on a hot summer day. It’s naturally sweetened with a homemade simple syrup and by making it with the sweetest fresh peaches you can find.
Why this recipe works:
- It only has four ingredients.
- It’s naturally sweetened with a homemade simple syrup that uses honey.
- Fresh peaches give it a ton of flavor.
Ingredients Needed
- Green tea bags
- Water
- Fresh peaches
- Honey (can substitute maple syrup)
Steps to Prepare
- This tea begins with a simple syrup of a 1:1 ratio of water and honey (or maple syrup). In a small saucepan heat water and honey, stirring constantly. Pull of the heat once the honey has dissolved. Cool the simple syrup.
- Heat 3 c. of water to a boil, remove from heat and add the tea bags to the water. Allow to steep for at least one hour. This is because green tea can be a little more subtle in flavor, so it does need to steep for a significant amount of time.
- Once the tea is done steeping, puree the peaches and 1 c. of water together. Strain mixture through a fine mesh strainer in order to remove any extra pulp.
- Combine the simple syrup, tea, peach puree and remaining 1 c. of water in a large pitcher.
- Add in sliced peaches, lemon wedges or mint if desired.
- Chill for 3-4 hours before serving.
Equipment Needed
- Saucepan
- Measuring Cups
- Blender
- Paring knife
- Fine mesh strainer
- Pitcher
Tips and Tricks
- Use the sweetest, fresh peaches you can find so you have a ton of flavor. Essentially, that sweeter the peach, the more flavorful the tea.
- A quick trick to make peaches easier to peel is to blanch them. Simply bring a large pot of water to a boil. Score the bottom of each peach with an X, then place in boiling water for 2-3 minutes. Make sure each peach is completely covered in water, if your pot is smaller do this in batches. After the time is up, remove from water with a slotted spoon and immediately rinse with cold water or place them in a cold water bath. Then peel with a paring knife once they are cool to the touch.
- In a pinch you could also use frozen or canned peaches, just make sure they aren’t already sweetened. If they are adjust your simply syrup to reflect that.
- You can substitute maple syrup for the honey if you prefer that in your simple syrup.
- Make sure you steep the green tea for at least a hour. Green tea can be a little more subtle in flavor, so it does need to steep for a significant amount of time.

It is very easy to go wrong while brewing green tea. It needs to be brewed at the right temperature, for the right amount of time. For that perfect cup of tea, the optimal temperature is 80 degree Celsius. Anything over this temperature and you risk your tea turning bitter. Green tea has a lot of elements in it that contribute to its complex flavor.
