Ingredients for Baked Pork Chops
- Boneless pork chops – You can use bone-in pork chops if you prefer, but they will likely take longer to cook. I prefer to use boneless pork chops!
- Olive oil – Use some olive oil to baste the pork chops so that the seasonings will still. You can use some avocado oil or another neutral oil in it’s place though!
- Seasonings – This combination of seasonings makes the most simple and flavorful oven-baked pork chops:
- salt
- black pepper
- onion powder
- garlic powder
- paprika
Helpful Tools
How to Make Oven Baked Pork Chops
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit and then spray the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish with non-stick spray.
Pat pork chops dry with paper towels and rub olive oil evenly over all sides, then place them into the prepared baking dish.
In a small bowl mix all of the pork seasoning ingredients together. Rub the seasoning mixture over all sides of the pork chops to coat well.
Bake pork chops in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes for 1-inch thick boneless pork chops. They are done when the internal temperature measures 145 degrees Fahrenheit on an instant read thermometer.
Let the pork chops rest for 5 minutes and then serve.
How to Store Leftover Baked Pork Chops
Allow leftovers to cool completely and then place into an airtight container or wrap individually in plastic wrap or foil.
FRIDGE: Store in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
FREEZER: You can also freeze leftovers for up to 3 months. I recommend wrapping individually and storing in a freezer safe plastic bag.
How to reheat pork chops
For best results, reheat these pork chops in the oven. You can also heat them on the stove-top in a skillet, but I think that leftovers turn out more juicy when reheated in the oven. Just preheat the oven to about 350 degrees Fahrenheit and heat until they reach a safe internal temperature.
What is the best way to cook pork chops without drying them out?
My biggest tip — pull the meat out of the fridge for about 30 minutes before baking in the oven. Then make sure that you are cooking the pork chops at high heat, in the oven, for the best results!
Should you cover pork chops when baking?
For this recipe, it is not necessary to cover the baking dish. Some recipes call for that method, but I think baking uncovered helps to turn the spice rub into a somewhat crust-like outer layer on each pork chop.
What to Serve with Baked Pork Chops
These flavorful pork chops will pair beautifully with any and all of your favorite side dishes. I love to serve them with a starch and a veggie! Combos like Texas roadhouse rolls and glazed carrots, or mashed potatoes and green beans are perfect.
Roasted broccoli and air fryer roasted asparagus are perfect pairing too! And don’t forget that pork chops and mac and cheese are a classic that never gets old.
Pro Tips for the Best Baked Pork Chops Recipe
- Thinner pork chops will cook faster and bone-in pork chops will take longer to cook. No matter what you use, be careful not to overcook them they’ll be really tough and dry.
- As tempting as it may be to dig in right when the pork chops come out of the oven allow them to rest first. This will let the juices redistribute through the meat to give you the juiciest and most tender pork chops.
- Feel free to change up the spice rub. Herbs like thyme, parsley and oregano would be tasty. And you can add some kick with red pepper or cayenne!
These easy baked pork chops are a total win in my book! Healthy, flavorful and incredibly simple to make.
