Ingredients for Pulled Pork Sliders
- Pulled pork – You’ll need some tasty BBQ pulled pork to make these amazing sliders. Make some Instant Pot pulled pork for a quick recipe, or slow cooker pulled pork for a set and forget recipe that can cook all day long.
- Bacon – Grab some tasty thick cut bacon and slice it into large chunks.
- Colby Jack cheese – I love the flavor that Colby Jack cheese gives to these, but it tastes great with provolone, gouda, sharp cheddar or pepper jack.
- Worcestershire sauce – This yummy sauce adds a lovely depth of flavor.
- BBQ sauce – Grab your favorite barbecue sauce from the grocery store, or make your own homemade BBQ sauce instead.
- Butter – I recommend using unsalted butter since you’ll be adding garlic salt to the melted butter, but feel free to use salted butter if you prefer.
- Hawaiian slider rolls – The sweetness of Hawaiian rolls goes so well with the savory sweet flavor of all the other ingredients. If you can’t find these, feel free to replace them with plain slider buns.
How to Make Pulled Pork Sliders
Cook chopped bacon in a large skillet over medium-high heat until bacon reaches desired crispiness. Remove and let bacon sit on a paper towel lined plate.
Place slider buns on a cutting board and cut in half, separating the top from the bottom. Set top buns aside.
Put the bottom layer of the buns into a greased 9×13 baking dish, and then layer the pulled pork over the bottom buns. Top with BBQ sauce, crispy bacon and sliced cheese.
Then place the top half of the buns onto the sliders.
Next, add butter, Worcestershire sauce and garlic salt to a microwave-safe bowl and heat for 30-60 seconds, or until fully melted.
Stir the mixture well, then use a basting brush to cover the top of sliders.
Place the dish into the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, until cheese is fully melted and the tops of the buns are golden brown.
Serve immediately and enjoy!
Pro Tips
- Make sure to spread the garlic butter topping evenly over each of the sliders. Don’t drench some rolls and leave the others without enough butter.
- You can easily make the pulled pork ahead of time, and store until you need it making that game-day prep so much easier.
- Grease the bottom of the baking dish so that the sliders don’t stick.
Make Ahead Tips
You sure can! Assemble the sliders (except butter topping) in the baking dish up to 4 hours ahead of baking. Keep the pan in the fridge covered with a lid or plastic wrap. Baste with butter before baking.
Storage and Reheating
Store leftover sliders in the fridge for up to 3 days. Keep in mind that the longer you store sliders on Hawaiian rolls, the soggier the buns will get. Either wrap the baking dish in plastic wrap or foil, or transfer leftover sliders to an airtight container.
I do not recommend freezing completed sandwiches, but you can freeze the cooked pulled pork separately in an airtight container for up to 3 months. Allow it to thaw overnight in the refrigerator and use it the next day in this super simple recipe!
For best results, reheat in the oven. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and place sliders in the oven for 5-10 minutes or until warmed through.
BBQ pulled pork sliders, loaded with all of the flavors you know and love. This super easy recipe will become a go-to for you and your family for game day parties and busy weeknight suppers.
