Make your own Fudgsicle at home! With only a few ingredients you can make these yummy homemade Fudgsicles that are the perfect treat to cool off with during the summer.

Summer is hot, but your snacks don’t have to be! You can make delicious fudgsicles with just two ingredients and some popsicles molds…it doesn’t get much easier than that. Your whole family is going to LOVE these, and making them on your own is more affordable than buying box after box at the grocery store all summer long.
I love making cold treats like fudge pops and strawberry banana smoothies as a refreshing treat after some fun in the sun! These treats are great for pool days, picnics, cook-outs, or just a simple hot summer day.
The best thing about these homemade fudgesicles is that you can keep the ingredients on hand in your pantry and fridge so you can whip up a batch at the drop of a hat. If you are a fan of chocolate and don’t mind baking in the summer, then you’ll love these chocolate cake mix cookies or this amazing chocolate lava cake.
Sometimes, I’ll bake some brownies early in the morning before the day gets hot and we have those on hand too! But this homemade fudgesicle recipe is the perfect thing to throw together in the evening and let freeze overnight. I bet once you make them once, they’ll be a staple all summer long!
Why You’ll Love these Fudgsicles
- This fudgesicle recipe is so easy and the clean-up is very minimal! Perfect for busy summer days when you’re more focused on having fun.
- These are great to serve at parties or when you are hosting guests. You can double or triple the batch and make plenty to go around.
- Kids can help make these easy popsicles, or even make them on their own. It’s a great way to get the family involved in the kitchen during the summer.
Ingredients for Fudge Popsicles
- Instant chocolate pudding – If you’d like to make these sugar-free, then just grab sugar-free pudding mix and make it just as you would with a normal instant pudding mix! You can use dark chocolate pudding mix or milk chocolate pudding mix, both will work.
- Milk – I recommend whole milk, but you could use 1% or 2% milk. Feel free to use a dairy-free substitute as well! Anything from coconut milk, almond milk, to oat milk will work. I like to use full-fat coconut milk that still contains the coconut cream to make creamy, dairy-free chocolate popsicles.
Helpful Tools
- Popsicle molds
- Popsicle sticks
- Measuring cup
- Large mixing bowl
How to Make Fudgsicles
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the milk and chocolate pudding mixture until it is thoroughly combined and creamy.
Carefully pour the chocolate mixture into 6 popsicle molds, insert popsicle sticks, and freeze until hardened. These are best when allowed to freeze overnight!
Can I add fruit to my fudge popsicles?
Yes! Thinly slice or dice strawberries and add them to the popsicle molds once you pour in the pudding mixture. You could also do banana slices, blueberries, and so much more. Just be sure you don’t stir them into the mixture, they need to go into the popsicle molds first.
Feel free to use fresh fruit, or frozen fruit. Either will work!
Can I add chocolate chips to my fudgsicle?
Absolutely! Chocolate chip, peanut butter chips, butterscotch chips, or even chocolate chunks would be yummy in these easy popsicles.
Can I add nuts to my fudge popsicles?
Nuts would also be a great addition to these. Be sure to chop them up very finely before adding them to the popsicle molds. You could use peanuts, walnuts, cashews, pecans, etc.
How can I make peanut butter fudgsicles?
If you want to change up the flavor of these fudgesicles, drizzle some peanut butter into the mixture and mix well! You could also add some cashew butter, almond butter, or any other nut butter that you prefer.
Pro Tips!
- If you have a deep freezer, place the popsicles in there instead of your indoor fridge freezer. Deep freezer tend to be colder, so your popsicles may freeze more quickly.
- To make these fudgesicles extra creamy, mix in some Greek yogurt.
- This recipe make 6 full size popsicles. If your popsicle mold has more than six slots, double the recipe to have enough to go around.
- If you want to make your popsicles even more cholocatey, just add of dutch-processed cocoa powder or unsweetened cocoa powder. Just keep in mind, that you may need to add some extra sweetener as well.
These tasty treats are so refreshing, and so easy! But fair warning, once you eat one you won’t want to stop.
