It’s not fall without a batch of Instant Pot Apple Cider! It’s made with fresh apples, oranges and spices. Perfect for serving at all of your fall and winter parties.

If you’ve been a reader of my blog you already know I am all about apples during the fall! I just can’t get enough apple recipes and I am so excited to share this easy apple cider you can make in your Instant Pot.
It’s made completely from scratch with apples, oranges, and spices like cinnamon and nutmeg and I can guarantee that it will get you in the fall spirit! This is a great recipe for parties or make a batch to share with your family.
Why This Recipe Works
- Unlike making apple cider in a slow cooker or on the stove, this Instant Pot version is so fast. It’s ready in less than 40 minutes!
- It’s so much better than store-bought because it’s made from scratch.
- It’s great for parties as a non-alcoholic drink option or make a batch on a chilly night to warm up. It’s so cozy!
A mug of hot apple cider with an apple muffin on the side is my idea of a perfect fall treat. I think you will love it, too!
Ingredients Needed
Apples: You will need to core and slice the apples into quarters. You don’t need to peel them. I like to use Granny Smith apples.
Oranges: All you need to do is quarter them. Don’t worry about removing the peel!
Spices: You will need cinnamon sticks, nutmeg, all spice, ground ginger.
Sugar: Measure 1/4 cup of brown sugar.
How to Make Instant Pot Apple Cider
Place everything but the sugar in the Instant Pot along with some water. Secure the lid, close the steam vent, and set it to cook on high pressure for 25 minutes.
Once the timer goes off, do a natural release and then remove the lid. Mash the fruit to break it up and let it soak in the liquid for a few minutes.
Strain the cider through a cheesecloth to extract all of the liquid. You can discard the fruit and spices once you’ve strained it. Add the brown sugar and stir until it dissolves.
For serving, I love to garnish the glasses with fresh mint and cinnamon sticks.
Pro Tips
- Once you’ve learned how to make it, you can easily adjust the ingredients to your tastes like adjusting the amount of spices.
- You can also change up the kind of apples you use. I love using tart Granny Smiths but you can also use sweeter apples like Gala, Fuji, or Golden Delicious. Pink Ladies and Honey Crisp would work great, too! Or, try using a mix of apples.
- If you’re making this for a party it’s fun to make spiked apple cider with bourbon or brandy.
- You can make this apple cider ahead and store it in the refrigerator. Just warm it up on the stove or you can warm it up in your crock pot for parties. Makes it really easy to serve!
Making a batch of this Instant Pot apple cider is the best way to kick off the fall season. You’ll want to make it all through the winter, too! It’s cozy, warming, and delicious. Enjoy!
