I hope everyone is having a blast kicking off summer vacation!! You know what will make it even better, a twist on a classic margarita recipe: this Strawberry Lemonade Margarita!! It’s the perfect summertime drink. It’s cool, refreshing, and perfect for a crowd. Oh, and it’s also super easy to make because I’m using frozen lemonade. Heck, you can even use frozen strawberries and make this easy summer drink that’s loaded with strawberry and lemonade flavors in a few minutes!
why you’ll love this recipe
- This lemonade margarita is such a pretty color, it just screams summer!
- Making a big batch makes it so much more convenient for you to enjoy your guests and visit at your party because you aren’t constantly mixing drinks!
- For convenience, this recipe uses a can of frozen lemonade. You can keep a stock in your freezer to make this cocktail anytime!
This was so refreshing! Loved the addition of the strawberries.
ingredients for strawberry lemonade margaritas
- Strawberries – Use fresh if they are in season for the best flavor, but you can also use frozen.
- Frozen lemonade – Thaw a can of your favorite frozen lemonade for this drink.
- Water – This is just to mix with the frozen lemonade.
- Tequila – Use your favorite brand, it doesn’t have to be expensive. I like a middle ground. Use a Reposado or Gold tequila, which is what I used in this recipe. It is smooth enough to be mixed in with a fruity drink.
- Triple Sec – This orange liqueur balances out the flavors.
- Limes – You will be using fresh lime juice in the margaritas as well as using a wedge to help salt the rim of your glass.
- Coarse salt – The salt on the rim of your beverage balances out the strong flavors of the margarita. You could also use Tajin to rim your glasses for something a little different!
how to make strawberry lemonade margs
Combine strawberries, thawed can of lemonade and water in a blender. Blend until smooth.
Pour lemonade mixture into a large pitcher and stir in tequila, Triple Sec and lime juice.
Use a lime wedge to moisten the rim of the glass and then dip the rim of the glass into the coarse salt.
Fill glass with desired amount of ice and fill with the strawberry lemonade margarita. Enjoy!
Pro Tips
- Adjust the measurements of alcohol depending on the crowd. Baby shower? Stick to the lower amount listed in the recipe. Bachelorette party? Probably the higher amount will be enjoyed the most!
- Garnish with fresh lime and lemon slices.
Storage
If you are going to batch this cocktail in advance you can do it a day or two before serving it. Keep it in the fridge, covered, and give it a good stir prior to serving. Make sure it is labelled and out of reach of little hands since it has alcohol in it!
Be sure to give this Strawberry Lemonade Margarita a try at your next party and be prepared to make another batch because it’s that good!

New favorite recipe!! Made for 4th of July family gathering; everyone loved them. Used 1/2 fresh and 1/2 frozen strawberries. Used the low end of the alcohol measurements (1 cup tequila and 1/2 cup triple sec) and it was tasty and strong enough since we made multiple batches. Definitely on the repeat list!
Sarah Hill says
Yum! I’m so glad this was a hit with the family for the holiday! Thanks so much for sharing and rating this recipe!
Trish says
Can I substitute regular lemonade? I can’t find frozen.
Julie Evink says
You can, but skip the water in the recipe and the batch will be bigger because you are starting with a prepared liquid lemonade.
Mariah says
Hey! So excited to try this, I love that you use the frozen lemonade instead of like the powder or premixed! Takes me back to when I was little! Quick questions though! I have a gallon drink dispenser… So, I guess my question, is how many servings would be in a gallon would you say? Not sure on the “serving size” for this 🙂
Julie Evink says
The serving size is going to be about 4-6 ounces.
Beverly Nan Haskins Kennedy says

Annette says
When I adjust the recipe for 24 servings it is referring to (3) 4.5 cups, does this means (3) 4 1/2 cups?
Julie says
No, it is saying anywhere from 3 to 4.5 cups of tequila for the 24 serving option. 3 cups if you want it less strong and 4.5 cups for a stronger mixture.
renee says

Hey Malinda! Since I don’t drink alcohol, I’m wondering if there are any substitutions I could make that would approximate the same flavor. This looks SO YUMMY.
Malinda says
Hey! You could try substituting the alcohol for 12 oz of Canada dry or club soda (depending on how sweet you want it) and 1/3 cup of orange juice. Let me know how it turns out!
