If you are looking for a healthy snack that the kids will love and so will you these Apple Nachos are it. Sliced apples drizzled with peanut butter and topped with coconut, sprinkles, chocolate chips and white chocolate chips. The perfect after-school snack!

After making Dessert Nachos, I got so excited about the idea of sharing these Apple Nachos and I’m pretty sure you’ll be whipping these up sometime soon!
These Apple Nachos are one of the easiest and most delicious things I have ever made. You take delicious, crisp and sweet apples, slice them up, and basically top them with your favorite toppings.
One of the reasons I really love these is you don’t have to do anything extreme to the apples and it is a completely customizable.
Why this recipe works:
- A healthy snack the kids love to eat.
- Ready in less than 10 minutes.
- Mix up the toppings so everyone can have their favorite.
These are 100% kid-friendly. They make a great after-school snack and dessert all in one.

What Kind of Apple To Use:
We like to use a green and red apple when we make these because it’s prettier, but you definetly don’t have to do that.
A granny smith apple is our preferred green apple because it gives you a little tart to balance out the sweetness of the toppings.
For the red apple we like to use a Pink Lady apple that is perfectly sweet-tart with a crisp bite.
Topping Ideas:
We started with out favorite toppings, but you can really add anything you want so here’s a list of options so everyone can make their own version!
- Peanut Butter
- Chocolate Chips
- White Chocolate Chips
- Caramel
- Sprinkles
- Coconut
- Chopped Nuts
- Chopped Pretzels
- Cinnamon
- Marshmallows
- Toffee Bits
- M&Ms

Steps to Prepare
In less then 10 minutes you will be enjoy these!
- First core and thinly slice your apples.
- Then place the apple slices on a plate in a spiral, lining the ends up.
- After that drizzle peanut butter over the top and sprinkle the chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, shredded coconut and sprinkles on top.
Tips to Prevent Browning of Apples
If you want to slice the apples ahead of time here are some great ways to prevent the slices from browning.
- Lemon Juice: Toss the sliced apples with a little fresh lemon juice in a bowl or bag. This will add a very subtle hint of lemon to the apples.
- Ginger ale: Soak the slices in ginger ale. This will add a bit of extra sugar to the applese.
- Salt Water: Soak sliced apples in a salt water mixture. We recommend 1/2 tsp of salt per quart of water and soaking them for 3-5 minutes.
- Rubber Band: Wrap a rubber band around a sliced apple that you have put back together so air doesn’t get to the inside of the apple.
