Make these easy frozen Yogurt Bites for a healthy, sweet treat that toddlers and kids will love. Made with Greek yogurt, fresh fruit and granola. Add a few chocolate chips for a little extra sweetness.

Frozen yogurt bites are such a tasty way to get my kiddos to eat fruit during the summer. Ice cream is everyone’s favorite cold treat, but summer time is the best time for tasty fruit too! I wanted a way to include fresh fruit in a cold treat so that myself and my kids can cool off while enjoying something that is a little healthier.
These frozen yogurt granola bites are perfectly creamy and are just as tasty as ice cream. Plus, they’re super easy to make and my kids always ask to make them with me. My kids asking for a snack that is made with healthy ingredients…that’s a win-win!
Yogurt can come in handy to make lots of different treats during the summer time. Frozen yogurt bark is always a crowd pleaser, and berry popsicles are way more tasty than the popsicles I can buy in the grocery store. So, if you’ve got some extra yogurt that you need to use up, you can give this recipe a whirl or try your hand at one of these other recipes!
Why You’ll Love Yogurt Bites
- This chilly treat is a healthy snack you can eat to cool off on a hot summer day. It’s a fabulous alternative to ice cream that is just as creamy and tasty!
- You only need 10 minutes to prep frozen yogurt granola bites. After that, the freezer will do the hard work for you.
- This recipe makes 24 yogurt bites so that you have a stock of tasty treats for many days. You can easily make another batch when you run low, or even make a double batch so you have a lot of extra.
Ingredients for Yogurt Bites
- Yogurt – Any type of yogurt will work great. Plain Greek yogurt, or flavors like vanilla or strawberry. You could even use dairy-free yogurt to make these yogurt bites without dairy.
- Granola – Grab a box of your favorite granola at the grocery store or make your own like pumpkin granola to use!
- Fresh fruit – Use fresh fruit like blueberries, strawberries, bananas, kiwi, or raspberries to top each yogurt bite.
- Mini chocolate chips – Since these bites are frozen, mini chocolate chips work better. The normal sized chocolate chips can get difficult to chew when frozen.
Helpful Tools
- Mini muffin tin
- Measuring cup
- Spoon
- Cookie sheet
How to Make Frozen Yogurt Bites
Begin by spooning yogurt into each cup of the mini muffin tin, filling them about 3/4 of the way full.
Then, slice your choice fruit into small chunks and slices and place onto the top of the yogurt.
Add granola and/or chocolate chips to the tops if desired. Then place the mini muffin pan into the freezer for at least 4 hours, until frozen.
Remove the pan from the freezer and let it set for 3-5 minutes. Remove each of the homemade yogurt bites from the pan and place onto a cookie sheet.
You can refreeze them on the baking sheet if necessary. Serve straight from the freezer whenever you’re ready to enjoy!
How to Store Frozen Yogurt Bites
Make sure each individual yogurt bite is completely frozen. Then, transfer them to a large freezer safe bag or airtight container.
Store in the coldest part of your freezer, away from the door, for about 2 months. After two months these will begin forming ice crystals and may start to freezer burn. But I don’t think you’ll have to worry about that, these will be eaten up in no time!
Flavor Combinations
You can make any combinations that you want, but here are a few of my favorites:
- Chocolate Banana: Place a slice of banana on top of the yogurt and surround it in mini chocolate chips. The perfect chocolatey banana bite!
- Strawberry Banana: If you use strawberry yogurt, this flavor combo would be extra good. However, you can use plain or vanilla yogurt and top it with sliced strawberries and bananas.
- Lemon Pie: Use lemon yogurt as your base, and top it with crushed graham crackers or crushed golden oreos. It’s like a mini frozen pie!
- Mixed Berry: Blueberry or strawberry yogurt would be the best base for a mixed berry yogurt bite. Top it with sliced or diced strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, or raspberries.
- Cookies and cream: Vanilla yogurt with crushed oreos on top makes for a tasty oreo bite. You can also mix some of the crushed oreos into the yogurt instead!
Pro tips!
- Add some extra sweetness to your yogurt by mixing it with honey or maple syrup before placing it into the muffin tin.
- To make things easier, spoon yogurt into a piping bag and fill each mini muffin cup using the bag.
- Make multiple flavor variations in one pan so that everyone has a favorite flavor to choose from.
You’re going to love homemade yogurt bites. Let me know what you’re favorite flavor combination ends up to be!
