I had no problem with the 20 minutes (stirring after 10 minutes) in my oven. Crackers tasted great but I think I would double the chili, oregano, and garlic to give it a little more kick. Will definitely make again!

Great to hear!

Recipe needs to be modified. Cooking time/temp too long/high. As other reviews stated, they burned before cook time was even finished. Went right in the trash.
Julie says
I’m sorry to hear that! All ovens heat differently, I’ll have to test this recipe again, I didn’t have an issue with the 20 minute time.
Parti says
I agree 20 minutes is too long. I did 6 minutes to stir and then 4 more minutes

Thanks for sharing! I hope you enjoyed them!

in the video it looked like you added 3 bags of crackers, but the written recipe says 2, so i was just wondering if its 2 or 3 bags? these sound amazing, and i just wanna make sure i make them the right way 🙂
Julie Evink says
Two, you can use three, but the taco flavor will be less.
Jessica says
These tasted amazing until I put them in the oven. 20 minutes was way too long. They’re burnt ?
Rachelle says
Same thing here! Taste was absolutely amazing while we were snacking on them before putting them in the oven, but 20 minutes was absolutely too long. Now they just taste burned. Will definitely make again and shortened to about 10 minutes in the oven
Megan Richardson says
Are these possible in the crockpot instead?
Julie Evink says
I would think so Megan… I would try cooking it similar to this recipe for Chex Mix – https://www.julieseatsandtreats.com/crock-pot-chex-mix/

Julie, Thank you for the recipe for these snacks! They sound wonderful and I am going to try them. I love the ranch flavored oyster crackers so I am sure my family will love these as well. I do have to say however, your blog is so full of advertising, I could barley read your post through all of the ads. It is unfortunate because I do love your posts, but I may have to delete my subscription. I understand having some advertising helps pay your way but I was overwhelmed! Sorry.
Julie Evink says
Hi Gail! I’m sorry you feel that way. I do my best to optimize readers experience as much as possible. Would you mind sharing with me if you were reading my blog through a mobile device, tablet or on desktop? My ads differ between the options so that would help me! Thanks!
Gail S. says
Julie, I was on my desktop when I viewed this. Now that you say that, I usually am on my tablet and don’t have that problem! It was a Sephora ad that kept popping up and when I would try to minimize it, it would pop up again making it very annoying to read your post! I don’t want to sound mean because I love your blog and “Pin” several things off of it but it really got to me! 🙂 Thanks for concern and wanting to check it out!
Julie Evink says
That would be annoying! I’ll let my ad managers know! Sorry about that!
