The name of this recipe says it all. It’s a simple, no-mess dinner recipe loaded with cheese and pepperoni. What’s not to love?
Why You’ll Love One Pot Pizza Pasta
- Leave the recipe as is, bulk it up with some veggies, or serve it with a side salad. No matter what, it’s filling and delicious.
- Everybody loves pizza. This recipe is family-friendly and definitely kid-approved.
- The pasta will absorb tons of flavor by boiling it in broth with tomatoes and seasonings. The result is a mouth-watering and irresistible dish that your family will request again and again.
Ingredients for Pizza Pasta
- Corkscrew Pasta – Cavatappi, Fusilli, or Rotini are the best options to hold onto the cheese and sauce.
- Chicken Broth – This adds extra flavor, but if you don’t have any, water will work fine.
- Diced Tomatoes with Basil, Garlic, & Oregano – If you can’t find this at your grocery store, you can use plain canned-diced tomatoes instead. Then, add basil and minced garlic separately.
- Seasonings – Garlic powder and oregano are the only additional spices you’ll need. If you use plain canned tomatoes, you’ll also want to incorporate fresh or dried basil and minced garlic.
- Milk – We used 2% milk in this recipe, but any type of milk should work.
- Mozzarella Cheese – Grab a block and shred it yourself for the perfect, melty cheese.
- Mini Pepperoni Slices – Alternatively, you could buy regular pepperoni rounds and quarter them.
- Parmesan Cheese – Grate it yourself for the best result.

How to Make One Pot Pizza Pasta
Boil Pasta, Tomato, & Seasonings – Add uncooked pasta, broth, canned tomatoes, milk, and all seasonings to a large pot. Cover the pot, and bring the contents to a boil. You’ll want to peek into the pot and frequently stir to ensure nothing is sticking to the bottom.
Check For Absorption & Evaporation – After about 10 minutes, the noodles should be cooked and al dente. If there’s still a significant amount of liquid in the pot, uncover it and continue to cook the pasta until most of the liquid evaporates.

Mix in Mozzarella & Pepperoni – Add the shredded mozzarella and pepperoni to the pasta and stir until the cheese melts and everything’s well combined.
Garnish & Serve – Finally, top the pasta with parmesan cheese and serve it immediately. Top with fresh basil or parsley if you have it on hand.

Serving Suggestions
When a recipe is as easy as this one, preparing a side dish or two isn’t a hassle, especially when the accompanying recipes are as simple as the main one.
It goes without saying that one of the best things to serve with Pizza or Pasta is Garlic Bread. It’s an effortless, filling side dish that adds texture to a soft, saucy pasta dish.
You could even go a step further and whip up Cheesy Garlic Bread since you already have everything but the bread on hand for the pasta recipe!
Bagged salads are great when you just need to get dinner on the table. But, if you have a bit more time, try this Seven Layer Salad. It has simple, wholesome ingredients that balance out the hearty, cheesy pasta dish.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 days.
Reheating cheesy pasta in the microwave can result in less-than-desirable dry and oily pasta. So instead, I like to place a portion in a small oven-safe baking dish and cover that with aluminum foil. Then, bake it in a toaster oven until the pasta is heated through. Otherwise, you could lightly sauté the leftovers with a small pat of butter on the stovetop.
You could add crumbled spicy Italian sausage to this pasta for a new take on a “meat-lovers” pie. Black olives, bell peppers, sautéed onion, and broccolini would also be delicious.
As long as you’re cooking the recipe in an oven-safe dish, you can garnish it and then place it in the oven. A great way to finish the pasta is to cover it with more mozzarella, parmesan, and a sprinkling of mini pepperonis. Then, pop it under the broiler in your oven until the cheese is melty, bubbly, and golden brown.

The kids will love this easy one pot Pizza Pasta and request it over and over again. You’ll love to make it because there’s hardly any clean up and they eat it!
