Parmesan Crusted Pork Chops are tender, juicy boneless chops coated in a crunchy, flavorful breading, then seared and baked for an easy, family-friendly dinner that’s anything but dry or boring.
These parmesan crusted pork chops are by far one of my favorite ways to cook this cut of meat. They have the most lovely, crispy and flavorful crust on the outside of tender and juicy pork. You don’t have to go through the fuss of an egg wash either! Pan frying before baking guarantees crispy pork chops that you are going to love. These breaded pork chops pair with any and all of your favorite side dishes, too.

Ingredients for Parmesan Crusted Pork Chops
- Boneless pork chops – I like pork chops to be about 1 inch thick. Try to ensure all pork chops are nearly the same thickness for even cooking. It is known that bone-in pork chops are a bit easier to keep tender and juicy than boneless. So feel free to use those in this recipe if you’re having trouble with keeping boneless moist.
- Italian seasoned breadcrumbs – Make the best crispy crust with some Italian bread crumbs. You can also season plain breadcrumbs with dried oregano, basil, parsley, onion powder, garlic powder and ground black pepper. Use Panko as a substitute if that’s what you have on hand.
- Olive oil – The best olive oil to use to fry is a pure olive oil or regular olive oil. If you use an Extra Virgin Olive Oil it has a smoke point of 375 degrees Fahrenheit and if it gets hotter than that it can affect the taste.
- Grated parmesan cheese – Mix some parmesan cheese with seasonings and Italian panko breadcrumbs to make the tastiest breading.
- Seasonings – A combo of smoked paprika, dried parsley, garlic powder, and black pepper is so flavorful.
How to Make Parmesan Crusted Pork Chops
Combine the Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, paprika, parsley, garlic powder, and pepper in a shallow dish.
Heat olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
While you wait for the oil to heat up, bread the pork chops by dipping them in the breadcrumb mixture. Gently press the pork chops into the breadcrumbs so that they are evenly coated.
Place them into the frying pan with hot oil and cook them for about two minutes on each side.
If your frying pan is oven-safe, then you can just transfer the pork chops in it to bake in the oven. Otherwise, you’ll need to transfer the pork chops to a baking dish.
Bake the pork chops for 8 to 10 minutes or until the internal temperature is 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
Remove from the oven and allow the pork to rest for a few minutes before serving.
Pro Tips
- Keep in mind that you may need to add some extra cook time so that they heat all the way through. For best results, use 1 inch thick pork chops.
- Use a shallow bowl to mix the breading in so that you can easily coat each pork chop.
- Use an instant-read thermometer to quickly and accurately check the internal temp of each pork chop.
- A pie plate is a great dish to use for dredging your pork chops.
How do you keep pork chops from getting tough?
The most important step to ensuring this cut of meat isn’t tough is ensuring that you do not overcook it. Always use an instant read meat thermometer and cook them until they are 145 degrees Fahrenheit in the middle. A little pink in the center is okay if the temperature reaches 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
It is also important that you allow the pork chops rest before cutting into them so the juices can redistribute.
Storage and Reheating
FRIDGE: Place leftovers in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
FREEZER: You can either wrap leftovers in aluminum foil and place in a freezer bag, or place them into an airtight container. Store in the freezer for up to 3 months. Allow to thaw in the fridge overnight before reheating.
To reheat leftovers, heat in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 10 minutes, or until hot throughout. You can also pan fry, covered with a splash of water in the pan for moisture or covered in the microwave.

- 4 boneless pork chops about 1 inch thick
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese grated
- 2 Tablespoons Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
- 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
- 2 Tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Mix Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, paprika, parsley, garlic powder and pepper together in a shallow dish.
- Put olive oil in a frying pan and heat on medium-high. Swirl the pan to coat.
- Dip each pork chop in the bread crumb mixture. Pat to make it stick if needed.
- Add pork chops to pan and sear for 2 minutes on each side until golden brown. Place in a glass baking dish or leave it in the pan if it is oven safe.
- Place pork chops in preheated oven for 8-10 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 145 degrees Fahrenheit. Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes.

What to Serve with Parmesan Crusted Pork Chops
Pair baked parmesan crusted pork chops with quick and easy sides like air fryer broccoli or even broccoli casserole. They’re also SO tasty with classic sides like mashed potatoes, mac and cheese or cheesy garlic butter noodles.
Pesto pasta salad or Italian pasta salad would be yummy too! Or throw some other comfort sides together like au gratin potatoes or roasted vegetables. It’s a complete meal that the whole family is going to love.
