Relax in your own backyard with a refreshing fruit Sex on the Beach cocktail! This easy summer drink recipe only requires a few ingredients and will transport you right back to the tropics. It’s the perfect cocktail recipe for summer parties, lazy days or happy hour at home!

I love fruity cocktails and a sex on the beach drink is a classic! It combines peach, orange, and cranberry flavors for a delicious drink that’s perfect for a hot day. Pair it with a favorite snack like chips and salsa!
If you want to feel like you’re on vacation without leaving your backyard, you need to make this sex on the beach recipe! This is an easy vodka drink that was, incredibly popular in the 1980s, will make you feel like you’re at the beach! It’s so refreshing and summery.
This is a great cocktail to make for one, two, or a crowd. You don’t need fancy bartender tools like a cocktail shaker – it’s easy to make and even easier to drink. Plus, a fun cocktail umbrella to finish it off! But, beware, it packs a boozy punch!
Ingredients Needed
- Vodka – Any vodka will work in this recipe. It does not need to be top shelf.
- Peach schnapps – Make sure you use schnapps and not liqueur. They are not interchangeable.
- Orange juice – We recommend using pulp free 100% orange juice. You can also use pineapple juice to change up the flavor!
- Cranberry juice – I like to use cranberry juice blended with other fruit because it’s not as tart. Ocean Spray is a good brand to try.
- Grenadine – This is a syrup that gives the drink its pretty color. It’s also used to make Shirley Temples!
- Ice cubes
- Garnishes: Orange slices and maraschino cherries
Can You Substitute Peach Schnapps?
You can use peach vodka instead of peach schnapps in this recipe to get the peach flavor, but you may want to reduce the amount because vodka has a much higher alcohol content.

- Pour the vodka and schnapps over the ice.
- Pour the cranberry into the glass.

- Add your garnishes!
You can stir the drink to combine all of the ingredients, but to preserve the pretty layered look serve it as is.
Large Batch Sex on the Beach Drink!
Sex on the beach is a great party drink – everyone will want a taste of this refreshing fruity drink! You can double, triple, or scale the recipe up to how many you want to serve.
You can add all of the ingredients to a large pitcher and keep it in the refrigerator until you’re ready to serve it. Fill up glasses with ice cubes and fill them up!
When I make a pitcher I usually stir it, that way everyone gets every part of the drink in their serving.
Sex on the Beach Slushie Variation
Looking for an even more refreshing way to serve this classic cocktail? Make a frozen sex on the beach! It’s a grown-up slushie that is another fun way to make it.
Combine all of the ingredients in a blender with ice and blend until it’s slushy and cold.
Non-Alcoholic Mocktail Version
Yes, it’s easy to make virgin sex on the beach – this is a great option for guests who don’t want alcohol but still want something refreshing to sip on.
- Omit the vodka
- Use peach nectar or pineapple juice in place of the schnapps.
Pour the peach nectar in the glass first and then add the orange juice, cranberry, juice, and grenadine. Garnish with fresh fruit like orange slices and cherries for the finishing touch.
This Sex on the Beach is so fun to sip on in the summer. Whether you make one just for you or make batches of it for your next summer party, I know you’re going to love it! Treat yourself to one soon and enjoy!
