Why You’ll Love this Air Fryer Steak Bites Recipe!
- The air fryer is a great way to cook steak because it cooks it fast, and it creates a crust on the outside, locking in all the flavor and juices.
- Air frying steak means it never comes out dry. Since it cooks quickly, it’s hard to overcook the meat. The steak comes out tender and juicy every time.
- You can pair this air fryer steak recipe with so many side dishes. You can also use them to make sandwiches or wraps! Or make a batch for weekly meal prep.
Ingredients for Air Fryer Steak Bites

What Cut of Steak is Best for Air Fryer Steak Bites?
The nice thing about these air fryer garlic steak bites is that there are several different kinds of steak you can use. I don’t usually stick to one kind, I look for what’s on sale! Or if you have a favorite cut of steak use that type. Here are the ones I like to use:
- sirloin steak
- strip loin steak
- tenderloin steak
- strip steak
- ribeye steak
- top sirloin steak
How to Cook Steak Bites in the Air Fryer
Slice the steak into bite-sized pieces with a sharp knife, about 1-inch cubes, and place them in a bowl. Add the olive oil, salt, and pepper and toss to coat the pieces evenly.
Place the pieces in the air fryer in a single layer and cook them for four minutes at 400 degrees Fahrenheit. If you like your more well-done (no pink in the middle) add one minute of cooking time and repeat until yours is cooked to your liking.
How To Make Garlic Butter
The butter sauce is so easy you can make it while the steak bites are cooking.
Melt the butter in a skillet and then add the garlic. Cook it in the butter for about 30 seconds while stirring continuously.
As soon as the garlic is fragrant, remove the pan from the heat.
When the steak cubes are done cooking, take them out of the air fryer and add them to the skillet with the sauce.
Stir to coat the pieces evenly and then sprinkle the chopped parsley over the top for garnish. Now you have the BEST Garlic Butter Steak Bites.
How do I know when steak is done?
Make sure to use an instead read meat thermometer to take the internal temperature of the steak to know when it’s done. This is the secret to making sure you get juicy steak bites instead of dried out. You can choose whatever level of doneness you want!
Rare | 120–125 degrees Fahrenheit |
Medium rare | 130–135 degrees Fahrenheit |
Medium | 140–145 degrees Fahrenheit |
Medium well | 150–155 degrees Fahrenheit |
Well done | 160–165 degrees Fahrenheit |
Can I make these steak bites without an air fryer?
Yes! You can make them on the stove top if you don’t have an air fryer. Follow this Steak Bites recipe for full directions.
Storage & Reheating
To store leftover air fryer garlic butter steak bites, place them in an airtight container then store in the refrigerator for three to four days. You can also freeze them for 2-3 months. Just allow to thaw before reheating.
We like to reheat these using the air fryer. Preheat the air fryer to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Add the leftovers to the basket and heat for 3-5 minutes or until heated through.
Pro Tips!
- These are great for meal prep! If you want to do this, I recommend undercooking the steak bites a little bit. That way, when you reheat them, they will be perfectly cooked and not overcooked.
- To ensure even cooking cut the steak bites all the same size.
- Do not overcrowd the basket so each piece of steak has space for the hot air to fully circulate around it.
- I love the garlic butter sauce! But you can omit it and use other sauces for your bites – try using store-bought teriyaki sauce, BBQ sauce, or steak sauce.
Ready in 15 minutes and so, so, delicious! There is a whole lot to love about this air fryer garlic steak bites recipe. Pick up the ingredients and make them this week!
