Crock Pot Dip
That moment at night when you look around your house and you realize it looks no better than it did when you woke even though you’ve been on your feet busy all day long! It’s so defeating isn’t it? Enter me right now. That’s me. It all started when I went into a cupboard to grab something and noticed mouse droppings. Sigh. I wanted to cry. You see I’ve been telling my husband I think they get in somewhere. We don’t have a lot, actually its super random, like one a year or something. But we also had a salamander in the basement this summer?! EEEEEEE!
I’ve been secretly waiting to find a snake. I’d move. I’m out of here. That’s my last straw. No, they aren’t poisonous in Minnesota, but they are CREEPY.

Hamburger Dip
I got a little huffy with the hubs, maybe a lot huffy. I pretty much told him to figure it out. He claimed he just couldn’t figure out where they were getting in the house at because he’s looked before. I told him to try a little bit harder. Miss K and him were off. Downstairs they went to the basement. Soon they returned with a mouse in a trap. Sigh. I’m hoping that is the only one.
Then I heard him downstairs go, “Ah-Hah!” Apparently when they went from our electrical panel inside the basement out to the shed for the electricity out there when we built it they drilled a 2” hole and put a 1” conduit in. That means the hole was huge and open. EEEEEE! Still waiting for the snake. He plugged that up and I’m hoping we don’t have any more friendly critters join us.

Finding this little critter meant I went on a small cleaning rampage. But it was all inside cupboards and no one can tell I did a dang thing! So defeating! So if you come over, open a cupboard and tell me it looks good!
Crock Pot Cheese Dip
So if you need me lately I might just be face planting in this Spicy Crock Pot Cheesy Hamburger Dip. Actually, even if I wasn’t going through this crisis, I would be dipping away because it’s amazing.
One of my coworkers brought it to work for a pot luck and we all flipped over it. It’s currently the most begged for item for any pot luck. He’s more than happy to comply with our wishes because it’s so easy to make!
It’s perfect for all the upcoming parties for the holidays, watching the game, or just because. I mean, if you make a whole batch and inhale it, I won’t judge. Not at all. My self-control is totally out the window when it comes to this dip! So get the chips and start dipping!

This was so easy to make and it had great flavor. I took it to a potluck Superbowl party yesterday. There were 24 people there and enough food for 80. This dip was the one of the first things to be completely eaten. I’m glad I found your recipe! Thanks!
Julie Evink says

Hello Julie, I am gonna make this today for football games I am wondering if I can add a 16 oz can of refried beans to the ingredients to cook as well??
Julie Evink says
Yes I think that would work!

Julie says
Yes I think that would work!

This is what I’m cooking tonight for my boyfriend and my daughter while i eat salad lol but why use both hamburger and sausage I’m a little skeptical on the sausage part lol

If you don’t care for the pork, you can make it using 2 lbs of ground beef.

Yum! I’m glad you enjoyed it!

How can I make it not spicy at all? I’m gonna use hamburger meat, but even mild salsa is too spicy for me. Any suggestions?
Julie says
Replace the salsa with regular diced tomatoes. You’ll get the flavor of the tomatoes without the heat!
Ms.C says
I used cream cheese it was great
Julie says
Glad to hear it!
Peggy says
Can u use cream chicken instead.
Julie says
Yes you can!
Mona says
Can I use american cheese instead of the Velveeta
Julie says
It probably won’t have the same creamy consistency you get from Velveeta but you could certainly try it!
Lyn Walley says
I have made this probably a million times and everybody loves it! Everytime we have a family gathering I am asked to bring it. Now I bring it for school gatherings! But one thing I want to know.. is this something you can freeze?
Julie says
I’m glad you enjoy it! I have never tried freezing it, I’m not sure!
Heather says
I’m wondering if you Ended up freezing it and how it turned out? I made some for New Year’s Eve and have leftovers
Sue Ellen says
Hey! Gonna try this tomorrow. But I am wondering what if you are not home to stir it occasionally? Will that mess it up?
Julie says
It may cook to the sides of the crock pot a little – my advice would be to use a crock pot bag for easier cleanup. The dip should be just fine though!
Pat says
I recently made this for work and everyone loved it and wanted the recipe. I substituted cream of bacon soup because I’m not a fan of mushrooms. It turned out great! Thanks for sharing.
Julie says
Ooooo cream of bacon sounds like a GREAT substitution! Glad it was a hit!
